I wassomeone that no one gave a damn about.I was lonely and alone and above all Idid not possess a family.There were certain reasons for it , maybe I was “desi”or maybe I was diseased. But thanks to God because at this old age I have twofriend with me & their condition are also same:without family and diseased.Wehang around almost all the day and spend the night together.Its been 5 yearsnow that we stay together in this side of the road.As the winter is approchingI feel loved with the rays of the sun.Two years ago we used to get attacked bythe nearby enemy but I think he is dead by now, as he does’t comes to terrorizeus.

WheneverI sit beside this Government built road , I feel jealous watching the other dogin my neighbourhood, who is living a life of a “Prince”, with good food andgood ride along with a loving family to take care of him.But I think dog loversare universal. But no, they love their dog and throw stones at us.Is this whatdog lovers are? People are becoming biased day by day.They give prefernce to theforeign quality rather than the desi .But I shall not generalize because thelady outside whose house we lay about all day take care of us by serving the leftover:and something is better than nothing.She is a beautiful and caring lady, sheused to have three dogs but all of them died one by one.They now possessed twocats and a little dog.

The other day when I was strolling with myfriends in and around G.S.Road, we happened to cross a pet shop and listen to peoplebargaing about a puppy. I was totally surprised with the price of the puppy:25000/-.

People were trading these puppies, for meregreen paper.Does they ever think about what the mother of the puppy is goingthrough? In that way I was too lucky, atleast I was not separated from my puppieswhen they were born but now I really miss them as I don’t know where there are.Arethey dead or alive?

I think about the days when I was youngand healthy, I had a master name Joe: we were a pair with all those happiness around,we lived in a quarter in the rurals of Jagiroad.Actalluy Joe’s dad used to workthere and I was found by him in the nearby road when he was a kid. I don’tremember much but before Joe used to tell me that when I was a puppy I was lostin the road amidst the big vehicles and suddenly he found me and brought me home,& literally we both grew up together.

I still remember how happy & excited I usedto become whenever I saw him returningfrom the school.After he would freshen up we used to go out and play with hisbuddies of the other quarters.In the same premise there was used to be a hugeand tall water tank and in around itthere was a attached stairs ,the kids used to bet on that and the one who climbtill the second most top level of the tank,would be the bravest boy of thecolony.Joe never made it up but he’s the bravest boy I’ve seen in my life,Iknew it from the time when he first picked me up from the road despite of hismothers dissatisfaction.

After some years he left me and when to studyoutside, and soon after that his mother died of cancer.When he returned, he wasnot the little Joe I grew up with.He became a tall & handsome man like hisfather but he still loved me.He told about his life & how he misseverybody, he wanted to take me but his lifestyle there was very different towhat it used to be here.

We strolled about those lanes &recollected the memories we created together once upon a time.He knew that Iwas a part of his childhood and he became very nostalgic, but to me he was apart of my life. Now it was different, his friends had shifted from there: someof their’s father had retired or some of them have transfered.

And the day came when he had to return to hiswork & I was again alone with his father. Suddenly one day I was send offto his relatives house in Guwahati .I was reluctant to go but I was just a dog,it was the saddest day of my life, I stopped eating because I didn’t want tolive but a thrist to see Joe kept me alive.And one fine day I tried to ran awayto my masters place, but it was a stupid thing that I did, which I realized later.Now I miss the least chance to meet Joe and I was totally lost.

I was lost in the middle of the road andvehicles were passing right, left & around me. After I manage to cross theroad I saw a little lane,I prefer to go there and decided to spend the rest ofmy life until joe comes to rescue me. I was fortunately given shelter by some locals& they were kind enough to give me something one day ot the other to eat, Istayed there for four years and gave birth to eight puppies but Joe didn’t cameto rescue me.One winter night some dogs came and attacked us claiming the placewe were staying as their territory but then my puppies were not yet grown up,to fight back. So we have to change our location to a government office garage.But the saddest thing was I lost six of my puppies in the garage fire in oneof such winter nights.

I was miserable than, but still Itook up courage to live for my remaining two puppies and my wish to see Joe foronly once. Time flew bye, they grew up and one day left me. Now I’m old anddiseased but I will be ever grateful to my buddies who is still with me in thelast times of my life in the this road of Happy-villa where I reside now. I don’twant to go to that previous place because it reminds me of my puppies but Joeis living in my memories & my memory will die with me.But Im just a dog andGuwahati city is a huge puzzle for me to go in search for my master.I did triedbut I failed repeatedly .I’m too old now my hairs are all worn out and there aredifferent size of wounds in my body, it bleeds occassionally and as the weatheris chilly, the cold wind peirces through my body.Two of my limbs are badly hurtand are not taking the name to recover.Im hurt ;all over, mentally,physically& my soul is bruised .I just want to sleep now, a deep sleep because Idon’t have any promises to keep but just a wish to see Joe.

Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary: An Experience

It was a rainy morning but I loved the way it was .I remember some photographer saying that “you should experiment with any kind of weather” .I climb the bus it was around 5.30am in the morning but inside it I didn’t felt that way as it was jam-packed . People of all kinds of profession were there to start their normal livelihood. I made a space for myself and went for my journey with the music of Robert Plant in my I-pod. It reminded me of the hills, the mountains and Shangri la, although I was repeatedly disrupted by the occasional shouts of the handy-man. After a few minutes I got down on my stoppage, to get to my final destination I had to take a rickshaw to my cousin’s place as he was waiting for me .He had a pretty good idea about the place we would visit today for photography . As I climb up the rickshaw, I felt the breeze brushing my face. I relaxed until I saw the hills full of light clouds. It was so near to me and so green and beautiful which I never sensed for quite a time. But I don’t know why I resist myself by not taking a snap of it. Finally I reached my cousins place, he was ready. We headed towards the forest with essential things like water bottle, an umbrella& a packet of biscuits. The road was fine but muddy but as we reached the opening of the forest the route became uncomfortable but quite exciting. We began the actual journey here...it was a hard work for me as over the months I had gained a lot of weight, it made me exhausted in a few minutes but for him it was a daily kind of job as he usually come here to spend his time with his thoughts . I was amazed to see such density in a forest, there was large number of tree everywhere and especially in Guwahti which was on its way of claiming itself as a cosmopolitan city.

My cousin said to me:

“I think only in this part of Guwahati where you will find forest and cultivation” .And he was correct becaue when I last visited this place it was full cultivation (3--4 yrs ago) but now 2/3^rd was of the cultivation area was full of houses. We kept on walking until we met a man who was brushing his teeth and asked about ourselves.

“She my cousin and we have come to take photographs”; my cousin said

I nodded with him. And the man said well “you have to take permission from the Ranger”

“Well then can we meet him” I said

“No you can’t, he sleeping”, he said

“Ok then while returning we will meet him”; I replied

“Ok then”

Now we were off, but I was little surprised because I didn’t meet anybody here when I visited last, my cousin told that this place was given a wildlife sanctuary status since 2004. I was glad to know about that I also noticed newly built houses inside the reserve which I guess was for the forest rangers. I felt really nice because Govt had taken the initiative to preserve a rare place inside a city and to keep it safe .I also heard that this place was a house for many animals and different bird species like Chiness pangolin, Slow Loris, Flying Fox, Assamese macaque, Rhesus macaque, Capped langur, Hoolock gibbon, Jungle cat, leopard cat, leopart, Elephant, wild pig, sambar, Barking deer, Porcupine,phython squirrel, Civet Cat etc. & Lesser Adjutant stork, Greater Adjutant Stork, white – backed vulture ,Slender billed Vulture, Khaleej Pheasant, Green Imperial Pigeon, Lessar Pied Hornbill, Parakeet etc. respectively . Guwatians should feel blessed to have such a heaven inside the city itself.

We proceeded further; made a semi-circle turn form our normal route until he showed me a newly built dam .I was looking curiously at it and examining its length and breadth until he showed me the next big thing. There was huge group of mountain full of clouds …which somebody will definitely mistake for Tawang and yes it was a marvelous sight to see. After appreciating the nature’s beauty we went to the Ganesh temple situated little downwards which we had to go through a nature made steps. People usually comes to worship here, this place was full of huge rocks and three to four sculpture of Ganesha is here since time unknown. A little stream of water passes through here that later on joins Bhramhaputra. Our observation was suddenly interrupted by an unusually heavy rain. One of the interesting fact was that we had one umbrella with us and no other shelter to hide our head. We thought that the rain would not last that long but we were completely wrong, its went on for 2 hours. …even though we had an umbrella, we were completely soaked in the rain that too in the middle of the forest , it was like as if we two were on expedition from the National Geographic. We hurried back home & that was an experience.

But we didn’t felt bad at least we got lots of pictures of a rainy season and I planned to stay at my cousin’s place that night to see what the next day holded for me. I was lucky as the next day was a sunny day. But today we meet with lots of obstructions: starting with the forest officials who started to threaten us. There were four men and one lady official but without their uniform. Out of the men the lady seems to be stricter and was stubbornly misusing her power.

“Yesterday you went there, without any permission, we got such a scolding from our forest ranger and you didn’t pay the charges also” she said adamantly

“But in this office there was nobody, we meet another official there” my cousin replied

“Ok then sorry for yesterday, please let me talk to the ranger”; I said

‘No, you can’t, he went to his home”

“Please give us his number”, I requested

“We cant, he keeps his mobile switch off when he in home”

“So now whom can I talk too”; I said

“You can talk to me, as I’m now in-charge”

‘I said ok then tell me what am I suppose to do now’

“The D.F.O will be coming at 2pm, you can meet him or else come day after tomorrow”

“It will not be possible for me to come tomorrow, so please give me his number, I can talk to him”

She totally denied. So at last I asked

“Tell about the charges I will pay it now”

“You are not allowed, come some other day”

She seems to be so arrogant, we thought she was showing her power, well then you keep your power with yourselves...I thought.

(But later from inner source we came to know that there is no such charges to be paid and she didn’t got any scolding from the higher officials.)

We came out disappointedly but I definitely didn’t got upset as it was a huge forest, covers around 78.68 sq. km & had different openings. So my cousin called up his friend who stayed nearby and we went through some other routes which were too difficult then before. It was very steep and we had to go through the backyards of people’s houses. I got some really nice shots there but not the “perfect picture” which I was longed for.

He felt my disappointedness, so after bidding goodbye to his friends we took another route, it was through the middle of the cultivation all greenery, cows were grazing, we were tired and the heat was rising. But after walking all about 15 kilometers a simple sound made me feel refresh and it was the sound of the water fall. We went according to the sound and came across huge trees and amidst that 3 kids were sitting in silence .We asked them to accompany us; what I notice here was the density of the trees were more that before. We also happen to meet a woodcutter on our way. As we were walking we saw the view of the fall: it was the same stream I talks about .The stream from there falls here through some huge rocks .But to reach there again we have to cross the same stream .We were tired, so prefer to rest there and what I saw there was little bunch of butterflies sitting in the rock and I suppose they were sun-bathing. They were so beautiful that it seemed like that they wore purple frocks. The amazing thing was these little butterflies didn’t fear us. They were completely with themselves. After the rest our journey was on, the boys took us to the waterfall and just imagine we were walking upward towards the fall .This boys were the inhabitants of the forest itself so they knew everything about the forest. There were big stones, we have to put off our shoes as the stones were slippery; we walked against the waterfall until we saw a cave. Those kid s began to open their clothes & bath .We clicked some amazing natural shots until we were hungry …sitting in the shade we had biscuits and water. Although the sun was really hard on us but the relaxing sound of the fall made us very relaxed .We really enjoyed with these boys, if not wrong to say they were God send .But it was too late now, we had to run home, but at the end of the day I was satisfied because I got my perfect picture.

I specially want to thanks to those officials who denied us from the entering into the forest, if they wouldn’t denied us then we can’t have this experience on the other end of the forest and I’m also sorry for them, because of such type of person our beauty of nature is being unexplored. They are being very strict to us but what about the trees that are always being cut and traded illegally in that forest itself and the case of poachers who earn millions from here. It’s a shame not only to them but to the whole society .They are giving orders without their uniform, this is not the law written in our constitution. I don’t want to blame the whole Forest Department: you people should be thanked for the care you are taking for this sanctuary but I just want you people to be beware of such officials that are serving in your department.

**Dedicated to people who is in thestruggling situation like me: we will sure have “our time”: just relax {apartfrom struggling} & enjoy this status of “Bekar India” a.k.a “Educated Unemployment”.(Wink Wink)**

The phase I’m going through is the real moment of my self-discoveryand as I’m struggling with my life, I have come to realize practically that ina certain extent examination marks doesn’t count: all it count is how youpresent yourself for a particular job (I knew about it theoretically before &I used to say it to my friends thou but have practically sense it now.)

I knew people /friends of mine in school, college, university etc, whoused to mug up study materials and then would pass out exams with good marks. I always thought: after all it’s importantto be a good person .In university level I saw people getting first classspecially in my subject of literature, some by hard work and some by lickingtheir professors’ ass. I also came across some people who were hard working butdidn’t deserve what they got. By the way I don’t know in which category I fell???? but,definitely not the ass licking one.

Sometimes I thought that what I wrote in the answer scripts wassomething “not usual”, although not so but I really wanted to interpret thingsin a different way even though I was not recognized for that (as they talk of “change”but was conservative by heart). I studied literature because I wanted to andloved because it was like an open sky: open for any kind of interpretation (althoughlogical). What we learn & study should be applicable inour practical life and that is when it counts. I didn’t care about my marks because I didn’t want to become a lecturer.I was very casual then but I know now marks really count. I was not seriouswith my life until one person poked me that I really need a job otherwise whatis the use of this qualification.

“That is true, but I reallyenjoyed doing my masters”; I said

Now after 1 year of my post grads I’m sitting idle, writing articlesfor reader’s visual enjoyment. One time I felt, just one time because I didn’t wantto think about it again: that am I really worth of the marks that I got? Ormaybe did I deserve more? Maybe I didn’t work hard to reach that level or was Iunderestimated? At that point of time I really doubted my confidence level, butonly for that point. I didn’t let it overwhelmed me.

I experimented with different kind of interviews starting fromlecturer’s job to sales & marketing but experiencing disappointment. Well Idon’t call it disappointment but may be a kind opportunity for a better option.So I have switched my search for a few weeks to reading my old pending novelsand have been posting my new write-ups. These periods is the golden period ofour life, as one of my friend say: “a real moment of self-discovery”, becausewe are practically experimenting our skills with different kinds of avenues, weare discovering ourselves which was unknown to us … Rather to be frustrated about or feelingdepressed about, this “status” is to be enjoyed. Because after we get settled,we will get stuck in 9 to 5 job, busy schedule (although with lots of money in thebank), marriage, responsibility then blab bla bla.

The “Red Carpet” Welcome: By Chance

As usual today also I was late for myuniversity classes, so I asked my father to drop me till the nearest bus stand.Looking at my hurriness, he took me till Fancy Bazaar and the immediate bus hegot (without asking its destination) stopped it and made me climb in it. Iclimb without any hesitation and I didn’t even care to ask where it was going.Only on the next stoppage I got to know as the handy man was shouting.

“Hajo”!

I was like “what”!

But calmed myselfand searched for my purse: had 40 bucks with me: that’s enough I thoughtbecause my most prized possession was with me “my camera”.

The next 45minutestill Jalukbari I was fully engrossed in analyzing the outcome of my not goingto class and for a change, going for an adventure. Although there was not somuch that I will miss but still I would loose much if I denied what my heartdesired. Even I satisfied myself by telling that “my dad himself had put me inthis bus” and therefore I was 10% to be blamed out of 100.

So finally I tookthe decision, the bus took the turn from the Jalukbari stoppage to theSaraighat Bridge route and now I was off to a place that I would exploremyself. A really unexpected journey to Hajo “all by myself”. I kept on thinkinghow people’s lives are unpredictable and how my day will unfold itself to mewhich I had created myself.

I asked the conductor:

“How much till Hajo?”

“Rs.10/-“; he said

The journey waslovely, the weather was pleasant, I found a sort of satisfaction even thoughthe handyman was occasionally shouting his due for the passengers to come, alongwith a variety of bumps that I experienced throughout the way.

I crossed beautifulsights, the long green fields, sometimes accompanied by huge surfaces of wateror else cows grazing in the open fields underneath the cloudy sky. The sun wastoday hiding among those clouds very rarely giving its glimpses to me.

After half anhour we came across a small road bridge and through the window I saw twoadjoining hills and a stream flowing through. A very similar sight which we useto draw when we were kids during our drawing classes:”scenery”. I thought to askthe driver to stop but I hesitated. I don’t know why!!

As I got knowthat Hajo was near I kept note of every landmark I crossed. Finally the busstopped, I climbed down, stretching myself it was a 1 hour journey. I noticedtwo ladies standing in front of a house, I asked:

“Can I use your bathroom?”

And thankfully theydidn’t deny me. After refreshing myself I thanked them and went out for an adventure.This time I made sure that I remember the roads. As I started to walk around Ifelt disappointed because it resembled much like Guwahati .I didn’t found whatI looked for ……although I was blank of what I expected out of my journey.

I took threeto four turn of the roads, until I founded a lane of houses or hut because theywere not concrete, it was a village, I walk through it and noticed peoplestaring at me. They were curious about who I was and what I was doing there .I hadto answer many of such questions and finally I replied:

“I write for magazines and I’m a photographer”

They were eager to help me out but I was searching something else.Then I notice a girl, she was very lively and I approached her:

“What’s your name?”

“Poonam”; she said happily.

“Don’t you have school today”; I enquired

“No I didn’t went”; she replied

“Well then, I’m a photographer ...will you take me to place where Ican get nice pictures?”

“Yes! Yes!”

She was excited asI was, her friend Pratibha was also eager to accompany us. I took her, butbefore that I wanted to ask their parents permission. They enquired what I doand where I was from and I replied as I did to the previous people.

Now we were three,Poonam and Pratiba was my guide of the day. They took me to a nearby placewhich covers a huge amount of land. Nearby was a cremation place of the Hindusalong with a pond. In the pond women and ducks were bathing together, it wasreally nice to watch them. As I took out my camera to take there pictures theystarted to scold us but we giggled and took snaps .Suddenly we were welcomed bya huge shower which didn’t last long .The place was surrounded by huge oldtrees and I was able to identify many plants growing there. We strolled around,chatted, took snaps and got an invitation to visit in puja holidays because shewill be free then and we will have a good time.

“She had a heart of gold”; I thought

We were about toleave this place and have to go toanother place and as we took the route adorned with the trees and kuccha housespeople ,we noticed people gathering the side of the road, whispering, smilingetc, I felt embrassing,a I walked the lane but it felt nice, it was likewalking in the red carpet in Cannes.

I heard them whispering:”they had come “;”they had come”

“What’s the matter Poonam?” I asked

“I don’t know, maybe you havecome from Guwahati, so people have come to see you”; Poonam told me

“Is that so”; I asked surprisingly.

We were confusedafter a time and felt awkward because on both sides of the road there werepeople packed, and now it was too much. As we reached Poonam’s home we heard a woman’sshouting, she was crying loudly .Poonam rushed, the tension was mounting in mymind had no idea what was going on. It was Poonam’s mother; as soon as Poonamreached there her mother caught her hair and started beating her. Poonam lookedhelplessly at me. I started to stop her mother; but………during that time somewomen took her mother inside .They told me that her mother thought that I hadkidnapped her daughter. Then I clarified them that I took their permissionbefore. I was shocked and was very hurt for Poonam as well as for me. I didn’tthought that my day would unfold before me like it had done. The lively childgot a beating for me in front of the people. I tried to make the peopleunderstand & after some time the situation came to a hold. The peopleinvited me to have a tea with them but I wished to meet Poonam and her mother.I denied the offer and decided to go back. In the bus stand there was no bus soI decided to get a tempo, but I met Poonam’s dad I thanked him and told aboutthe situation. He seemed very casual.

I took the tempo,the rain started to fall, I put on my I-pod and listening to the songs Ireflected on the situation that just happened. I didn’t knew who was to blamebut I really knew that people’s life are really unpredictable.

"THE RING OF HAPPINESS"

“The ring of happiness”

During school days I use to pamper myself with little little gifts and one such gift was a ring…it was not just an ordinary ring …it was of those plastic: “purple plastic” in the shape of hand with a smiley on it. Although not very expensive but it was in fashion during those days. We all used to wear & flaunt it.

Now it was least important to me but still I preserved it.

Childhood were those carefree days but as we grow up tears become an inseparable part of our life, there are different reasons for it, but now we all know that without tears ,the presence of happiness is in-complete. Today after many years I wore that ring, although it was little rusted but still the purple plastic with the hand shape n the smiley ruled: faded.

I thought that I would wear it from today onwards to remind me everyday that: “I will always smile”. I wore it, and went to visit a public food hut .as I had to wash my hands I opened the ring and put it on the table thinking that I will take it after I finish.

When I returned home I realized that I have left the ring there. I was sad…very sad. I thought may be it indicated that smile has run away From me / my life or else I’m the one responsible for my sadness as well as happiness. The ring became the metaphor of my feelings. The feeling came now when I had lost it forever. Certain kind of thought revolved around my mind but at last I found the real one:

The purple hand signified that all the 5 fingers are not equal and so are people’s life,”kabhi khusi, kabhi gaam”.

And the ring that I lost maybe a beginning of a new era of happiness for the one who finds it….but basically being happy is in one’s own hand.

As I lost my ring I began to realize about its importance in my life and it had taught me a lesson. A lesson for life.

So folks : as an old saying goes-----”be happy with what you got, rather than beating the bush with what u don’t have” {I think it was like this}…

“An extended holiday”

This was my trip for 2 days, I went there to attend my cousins wedding but ended up staying 4 days although I had targets to meet in my way back home. On 14th July evening I went to my maternal uncle’s place in Khetri. I stayed there the night.....I mean: i just slept there because the moment I reached there I took my uncles daughter and strolled all about the place ...I just loved visiting peoples places....I had the urged to eat my favorite "malpuwas" which I got without any request from one of my visits ...the next morning one of my uncle came to take me to the wedding. It was a two hours journey. Although we had taken the wrong road we manage to get there safely… it was in Nogaon, a place in upper Assam. Literally we enjoyed the wedding and I cancelled my plan to go back to my uncle’s house instead I went with the marriage party (without any extra clothes) to their home after the marriage ended with so called "pomp and pageantry" .It was late at night when we were returning to MIKIR BHETA, a small village in Morigaon I found something enthralling, the road was nice, fine and curvy….and above all a slight breeze was blowing with the beautiful moon looking at us. The place was very lonely, vast, green open fields adorning the sides of the road and suddenly the vehicle were all we “bride’s family” were coming went real silent. We all were soaked in the rays of the moon …it was so luxurious .Time passed by, we reached home ,after some refreshment we all sat in the lawn …where I have above me not tall buildings like in Guwahati but the open sky …all open only for me …..The only delight for me. I thought this is now or never and at the same time I made up my mind to stay longer. I waited till the next morning to inform my parents about my decision.

The very next morning as I was having morning tea with my jetha and family in the courtyard .I suddenly had a feeling about something known….déjà vu….no it was not that, because I have visited this place 8 years ago. The weather suddenly became cloudy and I sensed the feeling of something orient. All were chatting but I was immersed in the feeling …I wanted that feeling ,that surrounding to go on and on until it lasted …it made me feel something related to “Shangri-la”. A thought all in my mind that yearned me always after I read the book “The Lost Horizon” by James Hilton in 2002.It made me think of that monastery of the far east but I was interrupted by my sweet niece.

“Let’s go for a ride” she said excitingly so what I did I took my dada’s Activa and both went for a ride. And as usual people start staring at us because in that village girls rode only bicycle not two wheelers and that too in “mekhela-chaddar”. We rode in 60 kmph. The road was sleek and fine but too many speed breakers. According to my niece every household asked for a speed breaker. I smile and thought that was pretty amazing..And the PWD people didn’t denied too.

The road was long, we rode, gust of wind brush our faces, we enjoyed it specially my niece who was standing in front of me holding the bars of the handle. The roads were adorned by green green fields far and wide along with the beautiful blue skies .Its so contrasting with the city life ,people here are running for money ,so hectic life .Unlike in villages, people are so much at ease, so simple there life is, no facebook ,no twitter neither orkut.serene calm. We stop the bike on the side of the road and sat in the grass along with some cows grazing. During that time I found peace .I don’t know what kind of peace that was: but it was peace, serene………..

That very evening we had an appointment with my second cousins: Jyotiprasad and Bisnuprasad although they were not those “great men” of our Assamese History but they had great hearts .Jyotiprasad was the shy one but Bisnuprasad was our tour guide for the evening .The last time I visited Mikirbheta, we were kids then we used to ride cycles all over the place and we would visit some abandoned Shiva temple beneath the trees. Those were some days J…

He was very excited to take us to that ashram that still holds some spiritual power. But the route to there was real tough. The genuine route was blocked by rainwater, shrubs and now we had to take the less travelled once : it was through the cultivation of jute plants we have to get there ….we all had to scratch those spider webs..uuhhh all plants, insects all over our body. The moment we to reach there we washed ourselves with the water from the well, it was so cold. Suddenly the place was calm and “santi” seem to prevail. We went to the place where a man or the guru who discovered it was now resting in the grave .It is said that the guru puts his “khorom” and take a walk of the whole ashram at night .People staying there hears the sound of his “khorom” every night. I was amazed that people in Hindu culture are burned in pyre but this man was not ,he was just buried (maybe for some beliefs).

We went to see the pond and my God! It was full of lotuses. There were trees surrounding the pond .Actually we came through the backside of the ashram and when we went to see the entrance I was shocked it as so so “antique” , broken scriptures, huge trees welcoming the people and as the sun was almost setting we saw people coming from the fields with “jakhoi “ in their hands .

After that we meet the supervisor there who is looking after the ashram since 30 years .He told that no one knows who made this ashram or the mandir. But the art of sculptures that one sees is very amazing .It is said that it is a “jagrata mandir” because when one gives “Saki/Deepak” in front of a specific “shiv-parvati idol” it glooms itself. There a kind of light that emits from the stone idol itself. I was very amazed. The whole experience was awesome until a phone rang: our relatives asked us to hurry as it was starting to become dark and there are “evilspirits” in the fields so we have to run home through that jute cultivation that literally hurts our faces.

The next morning I have to reach my uncles place so that the very evening I return home. Although I reached my uncles place I decided not to go home. Me and again my cousin we went for a walk in the evening and while returning visited a relative place. There I came to know about “The History of Dimoria”: the very place where my mother was born and which I will continue in my next post. The next morning I returned home …and was very tired as the whole journey I didn’t get any seat to sit. A journey from Khetri to Guwahati: 50 kms which means to be 1 hr journey but because it was under construction I had to feel heaven…..and that is how I ended my planed and yet unplanned journey……

Suddenly out of no where you sense the reality of a new life. New life far from the world that surrounds you and you’re leaving it sensing new light and new life. A life out of nowhere, but in the midst of somewhere. You are there amidst nature…trees, mountain, valleys, river, haunting sounds which is melancholic in tone. Imaging yourself in heaven..music of the amazons ,circling thru your ears, as it depicts some mystical elements present that you are not face to face yet. You are sitting in the middle of the forest, the forest ..a very divine in sight…not deadly. Solemn music flowing in the wind around you,you go and explore the forest, there are red birds flying and playing among themselves. The flowers blooming in the tree and grasses ,u r being guided by a red bee to the unknown majestic beauty of the mountains that you see from the opening from the forest. The majestic view makes you feeling grandeur………………you just stand there and look ….feeling the wind and that thrill ….mesmerizing you as you experience the Crown of nature.

And this is the mystical element that you are face to face with the use of your imagination. It’s all yours!!

Innocence to Complication.... a long way

its really hard to face a person suffering or suffered from cancer.there is my jethi..my very sweet ..innocencccccccent jethi...married away very young..i didn't meet her much but whenever i meet her ...she is so full of her innocence.....once i remember a instance ..it was my cousins marriage..and my sweet jethi was getting ready..and my god she just took so much time to get ready......she was around 60yrs then...she was like wearing her cloths in more conscious way...combing her hair after putting oil(in villages almost all the women put oils in their hair everyday ,but now things have changed) neway after dat she wud put that oil let on her face ...life was very beautiful for this woman..she had 2 sons and 2 daughters. Two of them are settled but the other two are not.a few days back its was reported that she was suffering from cancer.as my parents called them we got to know that she wasn't informed about it...and in the phone her daughter was not able to talk to us as she choked with tears.........well life likes dat..at this point of time her family members are her greatest supporter.......
but what about munti khura ???????????????
he is every body's khura( or gali ka chacha) aged about 78yrs ...he never married..loves bhupen hazarika and hates jubin...his daily breakfast and lunch and dinner is in a local restaurant and b4 sleeping he takes about 2 to 3 pegs.he stays in a hill in kharghuli.he gives me old books of Russian writer ...to preserve it...and i do.3 yrs ago he had cancer ...throat cancer..but he survived,doctors asked him to quit alcohol..but he didn't...he was a bindass sort of a man ...but that day i was astonished..to see him crying in front of me.he was again suffering from a wound and now his situation was unbearable..he got some wound in his lower jaw and the juice produced by the wound makes his tongue stick with the upper palate...and that feeling is a horrible one...i just asked him " do u want to die like this" and tears started.i felt very upset .here on the other side was a man suffering dreadfully and no one to look after him.today he went to b .baruah cancer institute to get the report...of his test.every time he went for the test d doctors cut a piece from his wound and d feeling is also horrible.now he cant talk to me but try to explain me by his actions..even though he sometimes whisper for me.whenever i ask "why don't u talk"..he wud say"it hurts".today he went arnd 10 am to take his report...i waited 4 him ...but till then he didn't came....god knows wat was his report .

i just request the people reading this blog to pray for not only 4 them...but 4 all people who is suffering from cancer.

it was a very sad day i jus completed my 3rd exam and was on my way to home wen i got a horrible news from one of my friend.she said that one of our most respected sir had died.i was like shock..sir was quite young...he was in his late 40s.we used to take tuitions wid him during the last years of his life.it was from the year june 2007-feb 2008.he used to be very close to us .we heard that his family life was not that satisfactory .he used to enjoy wid his students ,sir never showed his other side but we always saw his humourous side.we thought that he was a great devotee of sigmund freud .he used 2 drink and smoke a lot.he had a huge library ...and offcourse why not..he was a gold medalist from delhi university,a COTTON COLLEGE prof. in english dept.was the one who brought SPIC MACAY and also the pioneers of the SHAKESPEARIAN DRAMA SOCIETY.he was a very different man ,and his thinking was very BROAD...really american way.the day wen he died i went to see him ..he was in his bedroom covered by a white cloth.it seemd like as if he was jus sleeping...jus sleeping in peace.it was hard for me to believe the fact that he has died .i jus cant.my God ..that night i cant sleep..his face was like floatin in my eyes.i rememered all those moments wen we students spend with sir.during the last months of his life as we had heard he suffered from diabetes and on 9th june he had an heart attack and left us all at 2.30 pm .REALLY he was a great man with great thoughts.its really unbelieveale that he has passed away.may his SOUL REST IN PEACE.

well my exams are from 5th and m still not prepared ...thousands of thoughts popping into my head..not willing to study only dreaming which is one of my fav hobby...lately i ve watched the swearing ceremony and there i saw Mr.shashi Tharoor...who was there ..and really lukd handsome than the newspapers pictures...well cumin 2 my point.. has ne1 read the "Great Indian novel" ? it is written by Tharoor .in that buk he is continuously criticizing "priya duryodhani" i.e. Indira Gandhi and the Indian national Congress but on the contrary he is here in the Parliament Swearing ....taking an oath ...Representing CONGRESS.really paradoxical huh............but i SWEAR that the novel is a A1 ...must read novel.every Indian should read it ...but still i have not got this POLICY of tharoor .Hope India rise.and i really appreciate our own NORTHEASTERN GIRL (or our DESI girl) Agatha changma......KEEP IT UP. youth India..fast India...and yo India

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING AND WHAT I THINK NOW IS THE QUESTION? ? ?

i wrote this article on 26/5/2006 11:46:32 PM and thought 2 publish it now

When I was small nearly school life, i use to think about those things which nowadays and then also people gave so emphasis, for example, like the small things which we people don't really care abt, as somebody said i was bitch which i didn’t care about but some will tell "why, who is she to call me bitch". When i came to know it was that "BIG EGO" which real didn’t existed in me only in some cases it did and this thought is still in me "we don't care" but people will make us care that. I think our generation is still bindass but still there are people commenting about others boyfriend." He's so dark in complexion", it doesn't matter to his girlfriend then why should it matter to others, cos the guy will sleep with his girl not with them. Well when i was small i didn’t thought of anything like a "AIM", I WAS LIKE IN A WORLD OF FAIRY TALE, THAT ONE DAY MY PRINCE WILL COME AND TAKE ME TO HIS CASTLE", well i think this too with Prince William but it looks nice in dreams cos if it really comes 2 be true it will loose all its beauty. Then i pass my class X met lots of, new friends, new experiences, pranks, games etc and we used to tell lie to our parents but didn’t knew we will be caught cos they have crossed this life to ...at first we used to tell this dialogues but its worth telling and we know its taste when we experience it...now as im growing old, now i have been realizing that im maturing and im feeling it too, cos now if my younger bro lies 2 me he gets caught ...as i know what i will do if im in his place ...all these are the miracles of experiences. Imagination is something very beautiful "JOB" for me to do. Its fun u can be anyone anywhere. Then comes about a girls life, at first any other girl thinks getting married to a rich family, bla bla bla...but what if ur man doesn't loves you...here comes the problem u get the man of ur dreams, but as usual the trouble" dad n mom"...unsatisfaction of life, u then think "all our deeds result"...as one of my frens say its "D BIG GENERATION GAP" well its true but it may be parents are not wrong also because they are the "EXPERIENCED ONE" but no one thinks abt the situation of the girl .Dad n mom stick wid their ideologies of "ESTABLISHEDMENT,RICH N ABOVE ALL REPUTATION" well does one gets everything(cause if everyone got everything then who will turn to GOD) and here come the word" COMPROMISE" which comes before the word LOVE in the "OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY"...its pretty easy to compromise when u get a man who loves u and parellely respects ur thoughts deeds(which must not be of materials).Well i can put here a ??Why do parents expect so much from their child?? Maybe (as one of my pal says) my moms have carried me in her tummy for 9 months and she knows everything about me (behind the thing i do behind her back) and she sees some inborn talents in me and so she expects. Well but my generation people or only me thinks after all, this is my life i will do whatever i want.... is this my life... no ...i think its better to expect nothing from their children, then they will get less affect in their heart then the maximum. Anyways i think mom and dad married, brought me to this world (which im grateful cos because of them I can bring my present thoughts to you) then working, bringing me up n my bro, ...this goes on enjoying their life.........together, well its a tradition of human-beings. Yes, one thing they stab their wishes into their child which later the child had to regret and the parents telling"dont worry, everything happens for its own good" and the rest is history. Blaming God. Poor God, actually i think no one understands god instead of thanking God after a good day, people pressures god about HIS OR HER problems. Well God has given man the" BRAIN" so we are man not animals (difference between us and monkeys) so we have to use it .God has so many other problems too. I read once "life is a stone, god has given us the cutter to crave it" so why we trouble God by blaming him, actually we are afraid of taking the blame to ourselves and we rescue from ourselves. Well this is the age when we make our "OWN PATH" this is the time we cut the grasses which grow in our path. Well some says no boyfriends "BARRIER TO CAREERS" well its up to you how u maintain it, but one thing sure u get "REAL LOVE" only once, you people will tell now this are all SAID STUFF, it is, because its TRUE. In this period of time (16-21 maybe) this depression all sucks and GIVES US a REAL DECISION of SUCIDE, some of them dies thinking not to handle the pains of life, we call them COWARDS. Actually it takes COURAGE to die. well this occurs in most of teenagers? Why? Several reasons u guys know.. If also one die there will be never any difference..Because memory fades.. with time “the BIG HAMMER for death “one will still lives his life, flowers will bloom ,spring will come, sun will set and so on ..it will put very little affect on NATURE but ur LOVED ones will really MISS YOU .But why doesn't it occurs in maximum of matured people...because they have someone to think for, CHILDRENS...OLD PARENTS..??????? ? Well if really (which they do) parents love their child then why they don't like their happiness. If a girl knew she could be happy with her chosen guy than why do parents disagree...REASONS behind. Parents know everything, after marrying parent’s choice of guy (really forced one) 3 lives are destroyed, wife, husband, and lover, only financial security is not everything. Actual it is mental satisfaction, as THEY WILL NOT SHOW TO PEOPLE WHATS GOING WITH THEIR FAMILY (they will act happy to please their parents) as we human beings are only puppets in this stage that we term as world, great man said it not me. Everybody knows everything then why so discontentment among people.
Lets come to the former topic"dealth". No one knows what lies after death, this is very CLEAR to all well if it comes like if i and my lover die we will meet in heaven ...well if my mom and dad die after us then they will meet us obviously there.(if they dislike my boyfriend in EARTH then how can they like him in hell or whatever...again like LIFE ON EARTH).Then SHIT....
WELL ONE POSITIVE THOUGHT to everybody that means everybody...from a drug addict to a good citizen...from a prostitute to an ideal wife. From a beggar to a professional singer... from a thief to a police.... i mean every body. We are living ...that is something we are preparing to die. We are going to die one day. It's the perfect lie and truth of life and we have to accept it as from ages people have said (which is real WORTH OF) is that what u are doing be happy with that (think one thing U R ONLY CAPABLE OF DOING IT so you are doing) so live n enjoy ur present as no one has seen the future and stop holding ur past cos it will give u nothing but harass ur CONSCIENCE (don't get me wrong cos im not telling about ur SWEET MEMORIES but of ur SOME BITTER PAST AND THOUGHTS) as we are sentimental fools who hold our past or others and make ourselves unhappy along with the other one ...what is this DO WE WANT TO BE HAPPY??? The answer is in our HAND.
